If you are experiencing repeated Firefox problem / crash during visiting this blog (or other blogs as well) kindly be informed that Mozilla is aware of this issue. Right now there is no real solution available but they suggested Firefox users to disable the JavaScript until a proper solution is found. To disable the JavaScript please click ‘Tools’ and select ‘Option’, look for the ‘Enable JavaScript’ and deselect it. You may also use other internet browsers such as Opera or IE if you don’t want to touch the Firefox setting.

We are really sorry about this inconvenience and hope that this issue can be rectified asap.

    • ]]>     Hi folks! I was really occupied by my other project so I couldn’t post here since my last blog on July 24. Now that one month has been already spent without much progress I decided to give this blog a total new look. This blog provides useful information related to the solar energy and its application.  Fossil energy is not renewable and there is no better time than right now to switch to the solar energy, especially with the ever increasing costs of living. Compared to the fossil fuel, solar costs nothing except for the solar kits and the installation cost.

    What is solar energy?

    Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the sun. In order to make it applicable the energy has to be converted into either electrical or thermal energy.
    Just like coins, technology has two sides, and there are pros and cons regarding the solar electricity as well. Please don’t get discouraged by the cons because they are not really big issues.

    Solar Electricity Advantages:

    -    Zero pollution
    -    Renewable energy source
    -    Solar costs nothing because you get it free from the nature
    -    Can be used in remote area where no conventional power lines available
    -    Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit applicable (in USA). Canada ecoEnergy  also offers incentives to the industrial, commercial or institutional sector that install active energy solar air and/or water heating systems
    -    Silence, no moving mechanical parts
    -    Low or no maintenance

    Solar Electricity Disadvantages:

    -    Initial cost
    -    Older solar cells or photovoltaic cells efficiency is affected by the air pollution and clouds, however you won’t see these problems much in newer technology
    -    Solar cells panel requires big space
    -    Obstructions will degrade the solar panel performance
    -    Depends on the sun. Not a big issue because this disadvantage can be reduced with the help of the solar battery chargers

    Who should consider using the solar electricity?

    -    People looking for green electricity
    -    People want to reduce the electricity bills
    -    People working or living in remote places

    The fact that solar cost is getting cheaper makes it a huge advantage in the long run, because from the utility bill saving it can pay itself the initial cost needed for the system. Just calculate how much you have paid for the electricity and how much money you can save by using this free energy.
